Day 23: Tuesday, May 5th

I'm not sure about you, but during this time of social distancing and quarantine, it has made it difficult for me to plan. And if you know me, I'm a planner. I like to have not just a Plan A, but a Plan B and Plan C just in case that first plan doesn't pan out like I think it should.

These last two months have really shown me just how much I struggle to trust God and His plan. So today as we focus on Scripture, I pray that you see just how good God is. How good and perfect His plan is for our lives. And how living in His perspective can bring peace.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11
"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5: 8

I love the contrast between these two verses. It really shows the intention of our loving Savior verses our enemy

I am so thankful that I serve such a good Father. Just like a parent, He wants what is best for us and sometimes that means some tough love. It means helping us grow, let go of control, learn difficult lessons, and unfortunately have some discipline. Sometimes we don't see the good and maybe we won't see it hear on Earth.

But ultimately, it is all done with love and for our good.

I also love the warning Peter gives us about our enemy. Our enemy is here whether or not we can see him. He is watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to take advantage of our weaknesses and not just make us stumble but to actually destroy our lives.

How are you staying alert and watchful for the enemy?

Does it give you a peace knowing that God has everything planned for our good?

I hope that today you can surrender your plans to God and allow Him to show you exactly what he has in store for you. I pray you find peace and hope knowing that His ways are good and He wants the very best for you.
