Day 24: Wednesday, May 6th

Imagine that, when we first placed our hope and trust in Jesus Christ and devoted our lives to follow Him, that He gave us a glimpse of Heaven. I would think that we wouldn't struggle with losing hope as much right? To see the prize that Paul refers to, to see what our final destination looks like ... wow!

But, the reality is, we do have an attainable hope. I love how Hebrews 6 says the hope we have in our salvation is an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Why do we need this hope? To be encouraged.

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 1 Thessalonians 5:8

Encouragement is huge isn't it? I believe it's by no mistake that 1 Thessalonians 5:8 refers to the hope of our salvation as a helmet, protecting our minds. This ties back to the armor of God passage in Ephesians 6. The battle for our minds is paramount and so we must stand firm and tightly hold on to the hope we have in our salvation.

My challenge for you today is to set your mind on Christ, the hope you have in your salvation, an eternity with Him! Let your mind wonder about the amazing eternity that awaits! Take note of scriptures that encourage you and fill you with the hope we have in our inheritance!
