Day 27: Saturday May 9th

I love the idea of keeping tack of how many times a day we express thankfulness to God. This really stood out to me in today's reading.

I find myself in a season of life where it is easy for me to look around and see frustration, annoyance, things not going my way or things out of my control. Is it just as easy for me to look around and see the blessings mixed in and immediately thank God for each one? I wish it was just as easy but truth be told some days that is just not the case. Recently I had a day where I was just frustrated beyond belief! I was in the middle of doing something and I was getting so irritated but in the midst of the irritation I had the idea to start singing a worship song. I am so thankful I did this because it was a way to stop thinking about the frustration and get my mind on something else. Because it was a worship song, it got my mind on the very best thing: God!

What are some ways you can be intentional to fix your eyes on God and recount the many reasons you have to be thankful today?

Scripture to reflect on:

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
