World-Changer Spotlight: Get to Know Donna Wright
Updated: Oct 1
Hi, I’m Donna Wright, wife, mom to Caitie Fink and Dan Wright, grandma to Eliana, Everett and Charlie, lover of the Truth and the Word. I’m a retired nurse and also graduated from the Pennsylvania Bible Institute with a seminary degree for the Christian
and Missionary Alliance. I love to read and color, and I love my cat Roxy.
I am the discipleship deacon at TNC, which means I oversee the PATH, write blogs for the PATH, review books and generally help out where I can. I love discipleship because it is the gift that keeps on giving- as we disciple others, they in turn learn to disciple, and the Word is spread as people grow in Him. My husband Ken and I lead the Empty Nest Life Group and I also volunteer in production for the worship ministry. We came to TNC 2 ½ years ago to spend more time with Caitie and Adam and their baby, and truly know that God placed us here!

Donna's Testimony: A Life Changed by Jesus
Before Jesus...
I was not “religious” in any way and knew almost nothing about the Bible or Jesus. My family did not attend church although my brothers and I did attend religious schools. If I had stayed on that path, I would likely have ended up as unhappy as my parents.
But then Jesus …
sent some friends of mine to invite me to church while at Lehigh University I was nervous because I’d never been to “Protestant” church. I was mesmerized by the sermon and even found myself asking the pastor (after being dragged to meet him) what it meant to be a Christian. He met with me, gave me a Bible with a list of verses, and within a week I was giving myself to Jesus.
And now because of Jesus…
I live free of fear and I have a life that is full of love and friendship. My heart is full!

Favorite Verse or Book of the Bible? Why?
Romans is my favorite book, and my favorite verse is
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2
I love this verse because I love to see minds and hearts transformed by knowing God and learning to discern what is good and
acceptable and perfect in their lives.
Who would you want to have a discussion with from the Bible, besides Jesus?
I want to chat with Peter. I feel a kinship with him because I am sometimes impulsive, blurt out the wrong thing and make mistakes even when I mean well. I would love to hear more about his life journey after Jesus returned to heaven.
Where do you feel closest to God?
Usually while singing. I love to sing and over the years have learned so much Scripture and truth from songs. I also feel God’s presence when I’m around a body of water- be it Lake Erie, the Chesapeake Bay or the Atlantic Ocean.
